Comment:
The course I had involved a lot of interactions with T.A.s and not so much directly with Gilady (hence I can't for certain give her a 5/5). Her lectures however were phenomenal. Very active and interesting. There is a lot of reading, but the readings were not always needed in order to do well, so pick your battles wisely.

I took this class as a life sciences student, and I ended up loving it. She put so much effort into the lectures, and was also really approachable and considerate. The content was interesting, and she engaged different topics. Watching her videos didnt feel like a chore, and more like something youd do for fun. Would totally recommend.

You don't need 100% of the readings for TUTS but know what they cover cuz you'll need them as sources for the essay. Remember examples the prof mentions (wars, operations ) to use them as examples in discussion posts and essays. Always make connections with course concepts in everything you write to get the best mark. So make sure to note them.

Taking POL107 online with Prof Gilady was a pleasure. Accessible prof (go to office hours!), interesting lectures, and reasonable assignments. My only complaint is that lectures were quite long (2 hrs of videos/week, admittedly watched on 1.5x or 2x speed) and sometimes not entirely relevant or helpful to the essays that make up most of the grade.

Her lectures were VERY interesting, filled with relevant examples, movie clips, some jokes, and good music (her editing is fab). The course had very clear grading criteria, however, your grade depends entirely on your TA.

Professor Gilady is LOVELY!! I took her class during COVID. She put so much effort into her lectures, included funny clips, high quality editing, etc. She often assigns movies or tv shows instead of readings. Super well organized course.

Honestly, I felt that Gilady did an excellent, if not the best, job at adapting to the online platform. Her lectures were entertaining and informative plus the syllabus is on a cute website that's easy to navigate. She does async and sync (optional) lectures as well as individual office hours. She seems really passionate in what she does!

The course was super, but I can't imagine a worse professor to take it with. Arbitrary marks, little-to-no helpful feedback and utterly inflexible on grades. One of the best classes I took, because of the curriculum and the students, but a horrible teacher

The class was very interesting, and the professor gave a lot of examples. The readings were very long. The final exam grades were higher then expected, but the Quizes throughout the year were more difficult then expected. Each quiz seemed to be about random information. Doing the readings is most important because a lot draws from them.

She's funny, but generally too bad-mooded to make the class a joy. Overly cynical. The class itself is interesting, but the lectures are not that important, the readings are what matter. Also watch out what TA you get, they tend to switch half way through the semester and can be very harsh.

Readings are crucial for success. She's extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter, and you WILL learn alot about IR. Will take consistent effort to pull off good grades though but as a prof, I highly recommend her.

Awesome prof! Great use of media in class. The assignments are clear and straightforward. The midterms were alright. The majority of the class got confused on the essay question. TAs are fair.

Can be very monotone and unclear due to her thick accent - she speaks very fast, so try to keep up. Does not post lecture slides online & doesn't allow lectures to be recorded. I would not recommend this class to anyone who does not need it.
