You will be expected to be engaged in a class thats boring and pointless. Each lecture is just a discussion about the most random things. The class is a scam. She uses her students to revise her book and give ideas for her book. If your idea isnt novel enough, you won't get full points. Felt like I learned nothing. Easily my least favorite class

Very chill class BUT with alot of drawbacks. Good thing is that are no exams and textbook is not needed. Otherwise, its a pretty boring class with very unclear grading. She takes off a bunch of points for small things so make sure you know how to properly APA format.

Dr. Preston is hilarious and the structure of the class is really enjoyable (stretching and snack break are the best). She is very flexible in due dates and helpful when you ask. She is a stickler for APA formatting though!

I don't see how anyone could give her a bad review. She treats you like an adult and expects you to read and discuss the readings. She's fun, nice and easy going and as long as you're not rude she'll treat you kindly. It's not that hard. She even offers regrades for everyone who doesn't formulate their hypothesis clearly.

I came on here to review prof Preston given the unfair reviews she's gotten so far.I have taken two seminars with her:Emotions and Sex & Gender.Emotions (altruism) was one of my favorite classes of college because you read interesting research papers and heard those researchers present their papers in class. That's TMD.Workload was a joke.Easy A

Professor is ridiculous at grading. She will give you a 33% because you weren't "specific" enough. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU WANT AN A. There are plenty of other seminars that have professors who are more fair at grading.

I took her seminar on emotions. It was really boring but to be fair 3 hours in one sitting is tough. The final paper/model assignment was convoluted and confusing but she graded it pretty easy. I don't think she's a very good teacher. She was nice at office hours but I still left confused.

Dr. Preston's wonderful and really challenges you to think harder about how to ask intelligent questions (writing questions is the bulk of your grade). Having a different professor present their research every class made it always interesting. I loved this class and would definitely recommend it!

Dr. Preston was a good professor and the class was interesting and fairly easy. No exams, easy open reading/group quizzes and you have to do work on the final paper throughout the semester so it isn't hard to finish. There are also a lot of easy points/ lax due dates. Dr. Preston is really helpful, and wants you to do well. Take this class!

The class covers a lot of very interesting material and really generated some interest in the field for me. Dr. Preston started out rocky but she really improved and worked very hard to do so. She also adjusted the grading scale accordingly to account for her previous mistakes. I liked her!

One of the worst professors I've had. This class could have been so interesting and it was horrible. She's incredibly condescending to the students in just about every way possible. The final paper assignment was impossible to even understand. If it's offered again, do not take this class.

Prof. Preston is a very, very poor teacher. She often loses control of the class and she presents the lectures by hopping around and having a mass discussion with the class. After two hours with her you realize you've wasted your time sitting there listening to other students talk, and you learned nothing. She's just not very good.
