Comment:
His class is doable and Jasmin is the best option to take out of all the other instructors teaching Organic Chemistry. I would recommend students to take him because his exams are multiple choice along with some open ended questions. And the curve for this class is a blessing!

He makes Ochem harder. His teaching style sucks. Goes over PowerPoints for lecture. Homework are useless. Few quizzes and three tests. Syllabus unorganized. Never follows correct dates on the syllabus. If you just want an A take him because of his curve at the end of the semester. But If you want to actually learn about Ochem take someone else.

Let me start by saying this: organic chemistry is hard. I will most likely be failing this semester, but it was not Dr. Jasmin's fault. Dr. Jasmin is so kind and always there when you need help. I met with him on many occasions and always tried to explain the best that he could. I am just not good at ochem

The exams are all multiple choice, and they are the hardest exams in comparison to the other orgo professors. That being said, expect a fat curve at the end 10% for F2020. If you want to learn, take another professor. if you want to get a good grade in orgo, take jasmin!

Jasmin gets a lot of hate, but he is a solid choice for Orgo. The class is not easy and his lectures are all over the place, but he is hilarious in office hours and is always available to help. Exams are hard but doing a little better than the average (just 5%) you'll be fine. The curve at the end of the semester will save your grade.

He's a solid choice for orgo, and undoubtedly cares for those who are interested in learning. He is readily available to help, but he definitely knows who has been attending his classes (even if attendance isn't mandatory). The curve definitely helps out in the end. He was a great orgo teacher online, during the transition to Zoom.

The only reason why I would say to take him is the curve. He is rude and mean. And his exams are way easier compared to the other professors. However, I really think he has anger issues. If you get close to him though, I heard he warms up. CURVE CURVE CURVE though.

Jasmine gets a lot of unnecessary hate in my opinion. It's organic chemistry and it's not easy. You have to go to lecture and actually study for the exams. He's always available in office hours and as long as you perform above average ( even just 5% above ) on all the exams and actually study for the final, you will be fine. My 72% got curved to A-

He is hard to understand and gives difficult multiple choice/open ended exams that most people get 50s on. He also fell behind on material. However, all the talk about his curve is true and will raise your grade by like 20%. Do better than the average and you will pass comfortably but it's still orgo, so it definitely isn't a cakewalk.

If you take Jasmin for Orgo 1, you will not learn a thing. His class is very disorganized, the syllabus dates for exams are not correct so you can never plan ahead. His due dates are random and he's very hard to understand in lecture. Dont get me wrong, he seems like nice guy who wants to see you succeed but everything about this class sucks. Avoid

Worst professor I've ever taken. Please, spare yourself from this course. I didn't learn one thing and he uses the same exams each semester so everyone cheats. Not about that type of laziness.

Serge Jasmin is a good guy its that other guy names organic chemistry that sucks. I'm not gonna lie he has trouble finishing his sentences and has accent so its sometime hard to follow, oh yeah and he gets mad when you ask questions and tells you too look at the stuff he posted on canvas as his answer. Grading isn't too bad since he curves.

his lectures are pretty rough bc he's kinda hard to hear/understand but he's a really nice guy & he isn't one of those professors that tries to make exams impossible. even if the exam was super hard and everyone fails, his curve will save you. theres a reaaallyyy nice curve in the end. (i had a 64% which got curved to a B)

Take notes from his lecture slides! Make sure you really understand his slides and if you don't, read the textbook to clarify. Also, go to recitation!! Extremely helpful for practice!! Jasmin can mumble a lot, and he can be very rude so try not to get on his bad side. It became clear who he did and did not like.

Orgo at TU is a great way to screw yourself. At this point you can take it with anyone because there is an equally likely chance you will get screwed. Jasmin can be pretentious in class to the point where asking questions are not even worth it. He makes up for this by being somewhat approachable in office hours. Average professor.

Professor Jasmin is great. His lectures are easy to understand and he posts everything online. His homework is optional but is a great learning tool. He doesn't require attendance however, he randomly will take it and give extra credit. he curves every exam and the final grade.
